The world's largest fur auction
An island kingdom, Denmark has a well-developed fishing industry, and a fishing fleet of about 2,700 trawlers. The main varieties of consumer fish caught are cod, herring, sprat, mackerel and plaice. Unlike other EU countries, Danish fishermen also catch industrial fish, which are used for the production of fish oil and fish meal. Out of the total catch, industrial fish make up 18% in value, and 78% in volume.

Danish farmers have built up a considerable production of mink pelts. The mink are fed with fish waste collected from Denmark's many fish processing factories. The furs are sold through the world's largest fur auctions, which are held each year in Denmark, and all types of furs are sold there, even including skins from remote Siberia.

Tivoli is right in the centre of Copenhagen. It features 29 restaurants and performing arts in the Concert Hall, on the Open Air Stage, in the small Theatre and in the Pavilions, as well as in the Peacock Commedia dell'arte Theatre. Fireworks, fountains, 111,000 light bulbs, 864 trees, 400,000 flowers in full bloom and 25 rides, including the Rollercoaster, make the Tivoli Gardens a joy to visit.
