Denmark's international role
Denmark is a member of the European Union, the United Nations, NATO and the Nordic Council. This strong international commitment has been demonstrated during wars and international crises, in which Denmark has supplied a hospital ship, mobile hospitals and medical teams to help alleviate suffering. During the Gulf War, Denmark contributed a patrol vessel to the UN force.
