In addition to supplying the domestic market with ice-cream, Fóm has begun exporting its products.

The products range from traditional ice lollies to frozen cakes and similar products.

The prosperous 1980s brought about the idea of domestic ice-cream production and inspired Faroese individuals who responded to the market demand for domestic production. Fóm's product range became an immediate success and in a very short time the company became the largest domestic supplier, overtaking a large share of the market from its foreign competitors.

Frequent experiments and market research have kept production up to date and secured the company new markets abroad. Currently 50% of produce is exported.

A part of the produce is currently made in the company's new branch in Narsaq,Greenland.

The company has changed ownership since its foundation and is now owned by director Poul Michelsen, who is a known industrialist in the Faroe Islands.
