Klinkan owns a fish-processing plant and two fishing vessels.
The company's headquarters are located in Húsvík on Streymoy island.

Klinkan owns and operates two identical fishing vessels, the Polish-built Stj¯rnan and Polarhav. Both trawlers are 37 m long, 9 m wide and carry 120 gross tons. The trawlers make the majority of their catches in Faroese waters, but seek other fishing grounds when additional raw material is needed.

The fish is kept in special containers on board and then landed in the same containers. This is a new landing method in the Faroes, which has proved both more economic in terms of time and ensures the freshness of the fish. The two trawlers supply the company's processing plant with the majority of its raw materials, the remainder is bought at Faroe Fishmarket auctions or straight from other trawlers.

The fish processing plant is multi-purpose, although the bulk of its produce is coalfish, supplied by its twin trawlers. The company has high expectations of the coalfish production which is an innovation at the plant.

Klinkan has sold its products to the Far East, mainly Taiwan. Despite the distance between these two countries, business has bloomed, a development the company's executives hope to carry even further.

The company continues to seek business partners from the Far East and Southeast Asia, and would welcome further contact with new parties from that part of the world.

Klinkan's Managing Director is Mr. Osmund Justinussen.
