P/F Kovin was established in 1982. It was in its time an alternative industry, and almost all the inhabitants in Sandavágur bought shares in this new and exciting establishment.

The factory is decidedly important for a community such as Sandavágur. The number of employees varies from 10 to 17, and considering the size of the community that is a relatively large business.

P/F Kovin produces tinned fish products, mainly codroe, prawn and salmon. There is also the possibility of preserving pates if the order is substantial.

The codroe is sold domestically, the prawn, salmon and caviar are sold internationally, to countries such as England, Germany, Netherlands, Norway and Curacao.

We take great pride in the quality of our product, the majority of it caught on home territory in the North Atlantic, the worlds cleanest ocean.

The company is presently a family establishment, run by Mr. and Mrs. Thomassen, who also own Sandavágs Timburhandil.

The company welcomes visitors and points out that the products can be found in the shops, hotels and by a visits to the factory.
