Finland a land with good connections
Due to its shape and large size, Finland has had to make considerable investments to create good connections. Whether this means surface, water or air transportation or data communications, they function well in Finland.

Amid today's competition Finland's good road systems are one of its assets, both north-south and east-west. A tight network of well kept roads covers the whole country, providing problem free transportation for both people and goods.

The transport capacity of the roads is complemented by the railways, which have the same gauge as in Russia, bringing its markets within easy reach. There are two main tracks in the north-south direction and several more connecting them east-west.

In addition, goods are transported along numerous waterways. The natural lakes and rivers are linked by several canals, enabling ships to reach deep inland, while the ports on the Baltic coast provide Finnish goods with global access.

Smooth flight connections enable speedy travel within Finland. In only 90 minutes one can travel from Helsinki in the extreme south to Ivalo in the far north. There are twenty five airports and airfields which offer an extensive network of flights.

In addition to transport systems Finland has highly advanced data communication systems, in many cases the most advanced in the world. One of these is the mobile phone network, which covers the entire country. In fact there are several networks, meeting different needs.

Data communications are available at very low cost. Both domestic and international communications are among the cheapest in Europe and thanks to fierce competition prices remain low.
