The Housing Association Ltd (A/S Inissiaatileqatigiiffik INI) is a new national housing association in Greenland. INI manages and maintains about 12,000 public rental houses on behalf of the Greenland Home Rule and most local governments. INI is not the sole owner of the rental houses: the owners are the Home Rule and local government.

INI manages on behalf of the Home Rule government a grant provided by the annual Finance Act for new building and renovation of public rental houses, a total amount of more than DKK 300 million a year.
Due to the establishing of INI, Greenland now has a corporation, which ensures both a rational, homogeneous operation and a systematic maintenance and repair of the predominant housing in the country, the public rental housing.
As for the society, the antipacited gain is a housing stock, which amounts to a value of several DKK billions.
As for the tenants, INI means a simplified management, a homogeneous rent assessment, an up to date service and an advancement of tenant participation.
INI also manages the housing benefits section.

The Greenland Home Rule is the sole proprietor of the housing association. Representatives from the Home Rule Government and the Home Rule Parliament, the Federation of Local Governments, the tenants and the housing association staff are members of the Board. The Housing Association Committee ensures open-ended communication with the public. The Trade Union Movement, the Employers Association, the political parties, the Federation of Local Governments, the Tenants' Association and the public companies KNI Pilersuisoq Ltd and Nukissiorfiit are all members of the Committee.

The Management Board and the General Office of the Housing Association INI are located in Sisimiut, and all the municipal boroughs, except the Ivittuut Borough, have branch offices.

There are about 50 employees at the General Office. There are in total 300 employees at the branch offices, divided into housing inspectors, administrative officers and estate officers. The approximately 150 estate officers (superintendents and assistants) are qualified through courses and continuous training programmes to provide a present-day tenant service and organize regular housing maintenance and repairs.
The Housing Association INI Ltd is developing a strategy on systematic service of housing and public areas in order to achieve the best possible housing environment for the tenants, and in order to ensure the public assets.
Due to the establishing of the housing association, Greenland gains significant savings in terms of housing administration. A rational operation is based on centralised finances, a simplified management and standardized maintenance and repair.
