Mr. Nico Hansen commenced his business in Nanortalik in 1970, working on boat and housing construction. In 1986 he bought the company Tømrer & Snedkerforretning, which is a carpentry workshop. During those 26 years Mr. Hansen has contributed considerably to the expansion of his home town, in that his company has built most of the houses.

During recent years the tourist industry has grown considerably in the Nanortalik region and town, and Mr. Hansen has taken an active part in this development. He has operated various sight-seeing services in the area from the start. Mr. Hansen offers trips of variable duration lasting from one day to one week. His ideal is a group of ten people, however groups of other sizes, or individuals, are naturally welcome to contact him. His tours include boat trips, hunting trips for fish and/or game, sight-seeing trips on the ice and, last but not least, observation trips for seals and whales.
