Buying space at Randburg

  1. Having decided to join in Randburg, the advertiser must decide what sort of space to buy. A standard page consists of about 300 words of text and two or three pictures in addition to a logo if the company already has one. standard page of this type costs about USD 540. Longer texts or more pictures are allowed, but involve an extra charge. Each publication period is 12 months.
  2. Next, the text must be written and pictures chosen. We advise people to have concise information on their companies' special features and areas of specialization, with details of goods and services, the name, location, contact address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address and homepage location, where appropriate.
  3. Next is the decision of what languages to use. To an extent, choice of language determines who will read the material, and naturally it depends on the target group. It is common to choose three, four or five languages. Each additional language costs about USD 230, including translation, registration in search engines in the appropriate language and layout of the page. Those who target on local market will naturally restrict themselves in their own language. Those who wish to reach a larger audience will choose the language they consider best suited to their purpose. All those involved in translation for Randburg are native speakers of the target language, so quality translations are guaranteed.
  4. Next, some key words must be chosen which refer to the activities or products which are being advertised. These key words are used in the Internet's search engines to publicize the company.
  5. Regarding "Categories", the customer should of course choose all categories under which his product or activity might fall. At most 4 categories for each company.
  6. We begin work on processing the text and pictures as soon as we receive the signed agreement. The text is then sent for translation into the languages chosen, after which work begins on "spinning the web", i.e. producing your web page for inclusion at Randburg. In most cases this takes only a few days, though in some cases translation may take one or two weeks. Thus, your advertisement can be in place on the Internet within a few days of our receiving all the material from you, and remains there for twelve months.
  7. Next, we send the key words you have chosen and entered in your agreement, and others which we make up, to our staff, who put them onto more than three hundred locations on the Internet where people search for information. In this way, we put you on the Internet, publicize your new homepage and contribute towards a good volume of traffic and a high response rate. Registration in the search engines is the most important link in the chain, and also the most time-consuming one.
  8. When your page is set up at Randburg, we send you the invoice for the amount stated in the agreement, i.e. USD 540 for a "standard" page in one language only and USD about 230 for each additional language. Where more pages have been agreed, or more pictures are included, the appropriate extra charges will be made. We then expect you to pay the invoice within two weeks. We return all photographs with the invoice, and also give you your location address at Randburg.
  9. Most changes to your page which may prove necessary during the period covered by the agreement will be included in the price. These include changes of telephone or fax numbers, additional e-mail addresses and similar small changes. More extensive changes will be charged separately. We therefore urge you to prepare your text carefully so that it will not require changes during the next twelve months.
