THE COMPANY Dímon ehf was established in 1994 and the number of staff is 10. Dímon specialisis in lines, bait, nets, machinery and other fishing-gear for the medium sized fishing fleet. LINES AND ROPES Dímon ehf offers a wide variety of lines for medium sized fishing vessels and moring ropes. We offer danline from 8mm in diameter up to and including 100mm and mooring rope from 40mm in diameter up to 120mm. Dímon also offers the innovative swivel line. SWIVEL LINE The swivel line is an innovative new product that has aroused great international interest. It has been developed after several years of close cooperation with members of Norway’s long-line fishing fleet. The system is not weakened by the inclusions of any plastic or welded-on components. Only stainless steel has been employed. The swivel has a closed eye at each end, vitually eliminating the need for spares. BAIT Squid – Illex Argentinus: The squid is jig-caught by Korean and Taiwanese vessels in the South-Atlantic. It is handlaid and frozen at sea. It comes in packaging of 10kg cartons and 18kg paper-bags. North-Atlantic Herring: The sizes are 100-200gr and 200-300gr. It comes in 9kg cartons. North-Atlantic Mackerel: The sizes are 200-300gr and 200-400gr. It is blast frozen and comes in 20kg boxes. North Sea Sandeel: The sandeel is blast frozen and delivered in 20kg boxes. MACHINERY Bait Machine. The bait machine is a simple, safe, effective and efficient device, with low and easy maintenance. It automatically baits the hook in coordination with the setting speed of the boat. Most baits can be used, such as squid, mackrel, herring and bait-sausage. Theoratically all types of lines and snoods can be used. Gill-net cleaners. Dímon ehf offers the world renowned MEYDAM gill net cleaner. We offer them in four different sizes ranging from 910 – 1690mm in width. They are made from stainless steel, with rubber coated rollers to protect from wear and tear. MEYDAM gill net cleaners are designed for all types of fishing vessels and are efficient, labour saving and easy to use and result in higher performance.
