Hotel Eldhestar, south Iceland,  is a new eco-labelled countryside hotel, situated only 30 minutes drive from Reykjavik. Hotel Eldhestar is a non-smoking hotel.

At Hotel Eldhestar you can expect to get an unrequested wake-up call from a golden plover or other birds in the area. Actually the unrequested wake-up call is part of our policy.

Eldhestar's goal is to show visitors to Iceland its unique wilderness. Therefore, it was a natural step for us to develop an environmental policy. It is important for us to keep the country as clean as it has always been.

Around the hotel are fields, meadows and just Icelandic nature. We can enjoy its unique silence. The windows are big and increase the feeling that you are close to nature, also when you are inside.
