Fishing in Iceland

Goose shooting by real hunting outfitters
Hunting in Iceland has only recently been embraced by foreign sportsmen, and the few who have made the journey have been pleasantly surprised. The coastal fringes are host to thousands of geese that gather there in the autumn before their long flight south, after a summer of breeding in the mountain areas. The shooting takes place mainly in open fields, farmed land, along riverbanks and on river estuaries. We are permitted to shoot all four species of geese in Iceland from 20th August until 20th March. Our tours have been operating for over 20 years now and we always get a 100% success rate.

Reindeer hunting in Iceland
The vast, wild and unspoilt interior of Iceland provides an ideal habitat for ptarmigan and reindeer. The season is from 1st August until 15th September. Our team has over 20 years of guiding experience in this particular hunting environment.

Ptarmigan hunting – Guided hunting
More and more foreign visitors are finding out about the thrills of shooting our ‘white grouse’, it is truly one of the finest wing shootings in the world. Shooting season is short and runs from the 1st November to the 30th November. By late November the weather changes and the first snow falls produce a heavy snow cover on the surrounding mountains. This forces the birds to find food and shelter in the lower lying valleys in patches of scrub birch. Whilst the hunters are still required to do a considerable amount of walking, the terrain is not as steep or as arduous as might be expected in the early half of the season.

Specialist shooting for Taxidermists
For taxidermists and those with a collection of mounted birds, we offer a specialist trip that will enable them to obtain a variety of new species. The purpose of this trip is to enable the client to shoot as many different types of species required for their collection. The season for this kind of hunt is from March to May.

Hunting in Greenland by real hunting outfitters
Greenland Reindeer are known to be larger than those found in most of the other Arctic and sub-Arctic regions, both in weight and size of their antlers. All transportation during the hunting is done with well equipped boats, experienced skippers and always more then one boat. Every two hunters have a guide and on a typical day can expect to be on foot for three to four hours, walking over a mixture of ground that can be rocky, mossy, grassy, or heather covered. There is a maximum of six hunters at any one time and therefore plenty of room for each pair of guns. Our hunting trips always provide 100% success for a nice trophy.
