Located only 10 minutes away from the Reykjavik Center, The Viking Hotel and the West Nordic Culture House are in the same building. The Hotel has 29 well furnished and luxurious rooms including shower, WC and television. The décor of the rooms has a West Nordic theme and as you enter the Hotel, you are greeted with fine art and crafts from these three countries.

The Viking Appartments/Guesthouse

Apartments and rooms for rent in the heart of Hafnafjordur the home town of the famous Viking Restaurant Fjorukrain and the Viking Village.

The house is stationed in the middle of the Hafnafjordur lava, surroundings that have shaped and spawned many of Icelands most famous folk stories.

We also have a special guest apartment at our disposal, to be used by artists working at their art, as well as exhibiting, selling and introducing their country in the handicraft-house.

West Nordic Culture House
The West Nordic Culture House is in an old forge. The opening of the West Nordic Culture House in Hafnarfjordur marks another major contribution to a better understanding and appreciation of rich Viking history, heritage, art and traditions. It is a valuable addition to the wide range of museums, historic sites and other cultural attractions in the town of Hafnarfjordur.

The West Nordic Culture House has a museum store and it serves the purpose of enhancing the cultural co-operation between the West Nordic countries, the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Iceland. It displays and showcases collections of Viking and Inuit art, paintings, drawings, carvings and crafts made today in the traditions of the Viking Age. The culture house offers various operations, i.e. the exhibition and selling of various kinds of handicraft and stalls introducing each country and its people.
