| Icelandic cottages in South Iceland
The cottages are located in a beautiful and natural area in the center
of Selfoss town only 800 meters from the bus station. Each cottage has
two rooms and all our rooms have cooking facilities, TV and a bathroom
with shower. In the rooms there are 3 beds and it can easily serve as
a family room. By our service center we have two big hot tubs for our
guests. There are 22 rooms and 4 rooms can accommodate people with disabilities.
The service center is open from 8 am to 10 pm. Upon a request we can alter
those opening hours for groups.
Service center in south Iceland
In our service center we offer breakfast from a buffet. We also serve
dinner for groups in the service center and it serves about 50 persons.
Traveling to South Iceland
Selfoss is a small town located in South Iceland. Through the town the
Hvítá glacier river floats under our town's famous bridge.
There are some horse rentals in the rural area of Selfoss and if you like
they can pick you up to experience the Icelandic horse.
The Selfoss swimming pool is family-designed and we recommend a visit
to the swimming pool to all our guests. There is nothing like relaxing
in the sauna after a horseback riding tour.
Selfoss golf course is located 2-3 km from Gesthús cottages. The course
is a elegant 9 hole course at the Hvítá's river banks
There are also great places in the surrounding area of Selfoss to take
walking tours. Many Iceland's most famous tourist places are located in
South Iceland e.g. Gullfoss, Geysir and Ţingvellir.
Camping in South Iceland
Our campsite is one of the best in South Iceland and offers excellent
facilities for campers. In the Camp-House you can cook on four electric
burners. We wash and dry your laundry for a decent price.
Activities/Leisure:
Swimming in the Selfoss swimming pools in south Icelandis great, there
are also great places to take walking tours around Icelands most famous
tourist places, horseback riding on the Icelandic Horese is a unique experince,
sightseeing flight over the south of Iceland end even further is a on
time experience, the Icelandic rivers and lakes are known for their pure
water and great Salmon & Trout fishing and if you don not like fishing
there is always sailing on kayaks or boats, jeep safaris in Iceland are
fast growing tourist atractions, there is nothing like experiencing the
Icelandic nature. Then there are museums and of course golf in the midnight
sun.
