Stykkishólmur is the largest town on the Snæfellsnes peninsula and is the ideal place to stop, whether you are travelling around the peninsula or taking the ferry across the Breiðafjörður bay. The guesthouse Hjá Maríu, Höfðagata 11 in Stykkishólmur is the perfect place to stay. There are four twin rooms and the guesthouse has two bathrooms, one with a bath, shower and excellent facilities. There is a television room and a nice living room leading on to a veranda which boasts fantastic views. You can also sit in the beautiful garden with its many kinds of plants. Breakfast and evening refreshments are included. The surrounding area is particularly attractive and the town has a number of interesting old buildings, such as the Norwegian House. The town has all the usual services, including shops, a swimming pool, a golf course and is close to many interesting places in the Snæfellsnes area.
