The Guesthouse Móar in the Inner Akranes rural district is new accomadation offer in West Iceland just a stone“s throw from the northern end of the new Whale Fiord tunnel. In connection with the opening of the tunnel in summer 1998, a new road was constructed to the west of Mt. Akrafjall from which tourist can enjoy a new view over a fertile landscape. Midway between the tunnel and the town of Akranes, Móar is a short distance from the road at the foot of Mt. Akrafjall where there are walking paths and a magnificicent view, e.g. from the peek Hįihnjśkur over the Faxaflói bay, southwards to Reykjavķk, nortwards to the Snęfellsnes peninsula where the glacier shows its profile against the sky and eastwards to the Whale Fiord and the Skaršsheiši mountains.

Akranes
The town Akranes is only a 5- minutes drive away. Among other things the town offers a nice wooded leisuree area, a district museum and the Icelandic Mineral Museum, the largest one in Iceland. Various cammercial ands service outlet are on offer in Akranes and this age-old fishing village is a lively place.
