A brooch in the so-called "Urnes"-style, from the middle of the 11th century. The brooch shows a big animal with its head to the right, curved neck and distinctive forefeet, and the belly ends in two tails. Two snakes wind around the neck and feet. The "Urnes"-style is the latest of the ornamental styles of the Viking era. The original is in bronze and preserved in the National Museum of Iceland. The copy is in actual size (4.5 x 3.8 cm) and was found in south Iceland.  One of the most precious archaeological jewelry found from the Viking era.
