Guesthouse Akur-Inn is located in a beautiful and stately house at Brekkugata 27a, close to the Akureyri town centre.

Numerous interesting locations are in the immediate vicinity, such as Davidshus, the museum of poet David Stefansson of Fagriskogur at Bjarkastigur 6, Sigurhaeđir, the house of poet Matthias Jochumson, the church of Akureyri, the swimmingpool, the art museum at Kaupvangsstraeti 12 and the Municipal library at Brekkugata 17.

All these places are within three to ten minutes' walking distance from the Akur-Inn. Further away at about 15 to 20 minutes' walking distance are Nonnahus, the house of reverend Jon “Nonni” Sveinsson at Adalstraeti 54, Fridbjarnarhus at Adalstrćti 46 and the Akureyri Museum at Adalstrćti 56.

Restaurants in Akureyri
Then when hunger sets in there are restaurants, cafés, bars and discos in and around the Akureyri town centre: Bláa kannan, Graeni hatturinn, Kaffi Akureyri, Sjallinn, Kaffi Karolina, Kaffi Amor, Fridrik IV, Fidlarinn and Bautinn. Greifinn in Glerargata is an excellent and atmospheric restaurant.
