As a member of the 18-nation European Economic Area (all EU states and three of the four EFTA states), Iceland implements the same basic liberal business philosophy as the European Union. Except in a few limited areas, all EU commercial legislation and directives take effect in Iceland.

• Aflvaki. Invest in Reykjavik
  Development Company of Reykjavik, an Inward Investment Agency representing the Capital of Iceland. The main purpose is to strengthen industrial development in Reykjavik and strengthen the city´s competitiveness.



• Invest in Iceland Agency
  An independent agency of the Icelandic Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the National Power Company and the Trade Council of Iceland. Its main function is providing information and expert confidential service on all aspects of direct investment into Iceland, free of charge.



• Sudurnes Pension Fund
  Pension Fund that guarantees its members a lifetime pension. It also pays benefits when members are disabled for longer or shorter periods of time, and pensions to surviving spouses and children.



• Trade Council of Iceland
  The Council helps Icelandic companies to sell their products, services, and know-how in the international marketplace. It has a seven-member executive board appointed by the minister of foreign affairs and comprised of business leaders from all sectors of the Icelandic economy.
