About IceTec IceTec is an Icelandic technological R&D and educational institute, serving a growing range of international clients with specialised needs. Our primary aims are to strengthen the Icelandic economy through development, innovation and increased productivity. We focus on initiative and flexibility that tailor solutions to the needs of individual clients. Our core clientele are small and medium sized enterprises -SME. Acting in close cooperation with industry, the institute focuses on R&D, technology transfer, education, supporting entrepreneurs and SME´s and consulting to increase innovation, productivity and competitiveness. IceTec is deeply rooted in the success of its home market. Our staff are highly educated scientists, technical specialists, management experts and educators who handle approximately 2,000 assignments annually. Many staff members regularly publish articles on their research in domestic and international journals. The expertise gained over 20 years of working with SMEs and institutions and businesses, as well as cooperating in various European projects which often includes project coordination, makes IceTec the partner of choice for a great many specialised projects. 
Applied research In all research conducted by IceTec the aim is to return direct findings to the companies as quickly as possible. In most cases the research results in finished products or technical solutions. Product development Product development involves the improvement of older products and the development of new types of products in response to market demand at each time. Many of the projects that IceTec is involved in consist in realizing clever ideas within the companies. |
 Consultation IceTec provides companies with consultation both on technical and managerial matters. Consultation aims at improved product and manufacturing quality, automation, and economization in management. Testing IceTec serves as an independent testing establishment in special fields, mostly within chemical and material technology. Tests are carried out and certified according to existing standards and customer demands. Education IceTec´s educational programme rests on the assumption that a company´s most valuable asset is to be found in the knowledge and skill of its employees. Training is designed to improve the company´s competitiveness and the employees´ skills. Impra Impra assists inventors and entrepreneurs in evaluating business ideas. Impra provides councelling with start-up, growth and management of SMEs. Impra operates an Incubator Centre and an Innovation Relay Centre to encourage cooperation between Icelandic and European companies.
