Lóniđ The restaurant Lóniđ is popular with both the general public and Hotel Loftleiđir guests. Besides its ŕ la carte menu, Lóniđ has excellent lunchtime and evening buffets, as well as breakfast and afternoon coffee buffets. Businessmen often combine their meetings with a good meal at Lóniđ. The restaurant premises and facilities recently underwent very successful remodeling. Víkingasalur For almost 40 years, Víkingasalur or “Viking Hall” has been a venue for social occasions of various kinds. The space is designed to accommodate both small groups and large gatherings of up to 800 people. Annual events There is a tradition of holding various theme-related events at Hotel Loftleiđir on an annual basis. They have become increasingly popular -- so much so that tables are sometimes booked up months in advance. Examples of these special occasions are days where Loftleiđir’s game menu is featured, a fish buffet specializing in skate, and a Christmas buffet prepared by Ida Davidsen, the queen of Danish “smřrrebrřd” (open-faced sandwich) chefs, all of which are an annual treat for many families and companies. The latest innovations – days featuring Icelandic lamb and Mediterranean salt cod dishes – have also become very popular. We have the premises and facilities to suit every need, and we can provide a variety of assistance with planning, including contacts with musicians, professional entertainers, etc.  Conferences, meetings, product promotions, etc. Hotel Loftleiđir has well-equipped meeting and conference rooms for both large and small events. JT Catering JT Catering took over the operation of restaurant service in Hotel Loftleiđir in the autumn of 2000. Caterers The company is run by Jón Ögmundsson and Trausti Víglundsson. Both have decades of experience in the restaurant business. Jón Ögmundsson is managing director. He previously worked as restaurant manager at Hotel Esja and Hotel Loftleiđir, where he was also conference director. Trausti Víglundsson is head of restaurant services at Hotel Loftleiđir. He worked for many years at Hotel Saga, also holding the position of restaurant manager there. |
