Laxá Ltd. Laxá Ltd. is a feedmill and the main target is to produce and sell feed, chiefly for aquaculture. The aim of the company is to produce and sell high quality feed at competitive prices. Laxá Ltd. was established 28 June 1991 and the company has produced fish feed since 1987. The company also produces petfeed for cats and dogs. Laxá Ltd. produce feed for: Salmon, Trout and Charr, Turbot and Halibut, Abalone and Cod.  The bulk of production is absorbed by the domestic market, although there have been some sales abroad. The company has share of approx 60% of the domestic market. The company strives to maintain its position as a first-class producer of feed for aquaculture. There is a strong emphasis on product development that has resulted in significant product improvements as well as development of new varieties of feed. During spring 1997 there were important technical alterarions to the plant to enable it to produce feed with higher energy content so that it could respond more successfully to the needs of its customers. Specialities for Laxá is that the company has good representative for small pellets. We would also like to attract our customers' attention to technical equipment for aquaculture. Laxá hf. is in a position to obtain such equipment from Sterner in Norway.

 Fishfeed Laxá product covers all the main aquacultural fish species. The feed program takes the changing nutritional requirements in the lifecycle of the fish into account. The content of protein, fat, vitamins and minerals in the feed is carefully adjusted to the needs of the fish, from fry to broodstock. All feed is packed in 25 kg plastic bags. Each pallet of 25 kg bags contains 675 kg of feed.  Pet feed Cató catfeed: Extruded dried wholefeed for cats. Cató consists of top quality natural rawmaterials (in descending order): Whole wheat, Superior fishmeal, deodorised hydrogenated fish oil, vitamin- and mineralpremix, natural flavour and soybean oil. The Cató feed is a complete feed and meets all standards for adequate and balanced nutrition for strong bones and shiny fur. The protein comes from premium quality air dried fishmeal. The Cató feed has all necessary vitamins, minerals and other components, needed by the cat, for instance natural Taurin from the fishmeal. No artificial colour added. The Cató feed has been developed in co-operation with domestic and overseas research institutions with good results. Hector dogfeed: Ready-feed for dogs - supply alone or mixed with fresh water. The compositions guarantee every dog daily needs for nutrition. The dog should always have fresh water nearby.Ingredients: Extruded wheat, LT Capelin meal, Capelin oil, Dried grass and Soyaoil. Supplied with: Vitamins, Microminerals. |
