of Marine Oils - Including Omega-3 Lysi Ltd. established in 1938, is a producer of a wide variety of consumer goods and bulk products. Lysi Ltd. has all the modern facilities necessary for the production of cod liver oil from raw liver to retail goods. The production facilities are flexible, enabling the processing of various types of marine oils in addition to cod liver oil.  Quality Management and GMP standards Lysi Ltd. was the first Icelandic firm to obtain certification of its quality system according to the International ISO 9001 standards. Lysi Ltd. also obtained a processing licence from the Icelandic Directorate of Fisheries in 1993 based on HACCP internal system. In 1995 Lysi Ltd. was granted a licence for pharmaceutical production for its packaging facilities from the Icelandic Ministry of Health according to Good Manufacturing Practice, being the world’s first cod liver oil manufacturer to do so.  Leadership Founded on Research and Development Lysi Ltd. recognised quite early the importance of research and development. The company has for many years supported research in Iceland and abroad on the role of cod liver oil in modern nutrition, particularly with the focus on the essential fatty acids. This has subsequently led to the development of new consumer products, which are targeted towards specific market niches.
