Mountain Taxi is a young and progressive company with an experienced staff. We have the ambition to provide you with a personal service of high quality so you can make the most out of your stay in Iceland. Our specialty has been traveling to glaciers all year round as well as exploring the magnificent lava-tube caves found in remote areas of the country.
Mountain Taxi is ideal for those who would like to organize their own tour, travel alone or enjoy private guidance. Even though we can equally arrange tours for groups we usually travel only with a few passengers on each guided tour, thus adding an element of personal companionship to your discovery of wild nature.

The Jeeps
Our vehicles are modified jeeps advanced in various ways for exploring the harsh wilderness of Icelandic nature. Modifications include raised chaissis, giant tires, reinforced suspensions and steering equipment. They are also fitted with sophisticated navigational and telecommunications equipment enabling them to negotiate terrain other vehicles find impossible to cross.
