Sel-Hotel Myvatn at Skútustaðir is located in the middle of the natural beauty of Lake Mývatn and is a new, splendid, 3 star hotel (opened year 2000).

The hotel offers 35 rooms (29 dbl og 6 sgl) with furniture, handmade from mahogany wood especially imported all the way from Indonesia.

The hotel also has a special room for handicapped people and an elevator. All rooms are connected with a telephone, computer connection and television. also WC, shower and a hairdryer. At the hotel there is a sauna and an outdoor hot tub.

Restaurant By Lake Myvatn, north Iceland

The restaurant (for 80-150 guests) offers a great variety of food and drinks, everything from a hot dog to elaborate festival dinnerbuffets.

The hotel is specialized for conference- and incentive tours and is a great choice for all kinds of winter activities. There are also several good hiking trails in the vicinity.

For large groups there is a conference- and meeting room for 300 people at the community hall at Skjólbrekka (300 m distance).

You can find a shop and a petrolstation at Skútustaðir and a swimming pool in the vincity. History museum Myvatnssafn is also close by. It shows the story of life at Lake Mývatn, complete with photos and artifacts. Furthermore at Skutustadir there is a church, built from norwegian wood in the year 1863.
