Since its inception, serving the fisheries industry has been one of the main roles of the Trade Council of Iceland, by providing marketing advice and information ,by organising joint participation of Icelandic companies at leading seafood and fisheries exhibitions abroad, as well as official visits and business delegations. At the same time, the Trade Council plays a leading role in providing Icelandic fisheries companies with information on diverse export.

One of the many services offered by the Trade Council of Iceland aimed at the fisheries industry is the North Atlantic Solutions project. The harsh environment, tradition and Iceland's dependency on the fisheries has made the fishing industry in Iceland one of the most advanced in the world. The North Atlantic Solutions project (NAS), brings all available manufacturers and service providers in the Icelandic fishing industry together in one place.
