Reykjavik Angling Club - fly fishing in Iceland
The Reykjavik Angling Club was founded in May 17th 1939 by a group of local
anglers who were interested in leasing rivers to fulfill their passion for
fishing. The club has now
approximately 2300 members and as well as serving local fishermen a large
number of international anglers are a part of our regular clientele
returning to fish in our Icelandic rivers year after year. The Reykjavik
Angling Club has a partnership with Frontiers International travel
consultants and through them we can offer dream vacations world wide.
Fishing in Iceland - Salmon fishing in Iceland
Iceland provides a unique setting for the sportsman with its bleak and often
haunting scenery, nearly bereft of trees and littered in part with volcanic
lava. The season is short in these northern climes but the sport can be fast
and furious. The salmon fishing season starts June 1st and runs through the
30th of September and the trout fishing season starts April 1st and runs
through the 20th of October.
