Saemark Seafood Iceland

Fresh fish on every plate.
Sæmark Seafood Ltd. is a company that bases its flourishing export business on a fundamental principal: making sure its customers get fresh fish, fast.

Established in 1985, Sæmark was a subsidiary of the Icelandic Freezing Plants Corporation until 1999, when the parent group turned exclusively to the export of frozen seafood. Sigurdur Bjornsson, then sales manager for Sæmark, took over the company and created Sæmark Seafood.

Based on the success of its predecessor, Sæmark Seafood continues to provide top-quality products, excellent service, flexibility and expediency to its loyal customers worldwide.
Today, annual turnover surpasses USD ten million, with fresh fish accounting for over 80 percent. Sæmark Seafood has developed close working relationships with the major producers of fresh fish in Iceland and all of them are HACCP certified. The quality-conscious approach to production, handling and delivery is the key to satisfying demanding consumers.

Each morning, the finest fish are selected from markets around Iceland and then processed and packed in polystyrene boxes to be dispatched on the first flight abroad. Due to Iceland´s comprehensive network of airlinks, Sæmark Seafood is able to deliver fresh fish, on a daily basis, to the European continent, the UK and the US.

Sæmark Seafood offers a wide range of top-quality species from the North Atlantic Ocean, including cod, haddock, saithe, redfish, catfish, monkfish, halibut, lemon sole and plaice. The company also offers a selection of farmed Icelandic fish, such as the delicious Icelandic salmon, as well as rainbow trout, Arctic charr, sea bass and halibut.
