The most charming and best priced guesthouse in Reykjavik!
The guesthouse in owned and run by the Salvation Army and the atmosphere is cozy and genuinely icelandic. The Guesthouse is situated in the middle of Reykjavik, with short distance to the main streets with shops and nightlife and a ten minute walk to the bus terminal. There is also short distance to several cultural and historical sites. The Airport shuttle stops right outside the Guesthouse. Just tell the bus driver that you are going to stay at The Salvation Army Guesthouse, and he will take you to the door.

We can accommodate about 90 guests at a time, in single rooms, double rooms, triple rooms and sleeping bag accommodation for the low budget traveler. Toilets and showers are on every floor.
Breakfast is served from 7:00 each morning, and there is a kitchen available for  guests where they can make their own food and store their food.

The Guesthouse opened in 1898 and was rebuilt in 1916. After that it has been renovated serveral times. Since The Salvation Army is the owner, there is morning prayer every day at 10 AM, and everybody is welcome to join in.

During the winter some of the rooms are hired by young people who are studying in Iceland and for others that need accommodation for a longer period. But there are always rooms available in winter time, and the travelers live side by side with Icelanders

The staff wish you welcome to a pleasant stay in Iceland and in The Salvation Army Guesthouse!
