and fabrication company servicing the primary aluminium industry
around the world. Our products are designed and engineered at our facilities
in Iceland, where we fabricate machines and systems in our modern workshops.
Being an integrated manufacturer, our product design cycles are streamlined
and feedback from the shop floor to our designers contributes significantly

and systems to all sectors of the primary aluminium industry.
Our equipment range includes conveyor systems, bulk materials handling,
storage silos, specialist machines for the rodding plant, casthouse and
potrooms, PLC and SCADA systems, and motor control centres.
Turn-key Projects
Stimir undertakes turn-key projects.
Whether the requirement is for
refurbishment or new systems, we develop and install the complete
solution, including the electrical design, computer programming
(including SCADA and PLC), engineering, fabrication, installation,
commissioning and training - all to an agreed schedule, deploying a fully
operational system on time and within budget.
International Contracts
Stimir has successfully supplied machines and instruments to aluminium
smelters and casthouses in many countries including Europe, North
America and Australia. Iceland's geographical location, technological

Anode Rod Cleaning
Stimir is able to provide machines and systems for anode rod cleaning
including bath removal, anode butt strippers and thimble strippers.
Rod
and Stub Maintenance
Stimir offers a comprehensive range of equipment
for rod and stub maintenance. Proven machine designs are customised to
suit specific client requirements and include stub saw machines, rod stem
straightening machines and stub straightening machines
Anode Sealing and Stub Protection
Stimir supplies graphite coating systems, rod fitting-in stations,
casting machines, and stub protection systems (collar forming and filling
machines), all designed to extend the lifetime of both anode and rod.

Control and Measurement
Stimir manufactures a wide range of measurement and control devices for
aluminium production including molten metal flow controllers
and level sensors for use in casthouses, and anode and cathode current
meters and an enhanced ohm meter all for the potrooms. Stimir is also
supplies a wide range of thermocouples.
Special Projects
Stimir is also able to undertake planning and design work for
aluminium smelters and can provide advice and engineering services to
project planners. Such projects recently undertaken include silo design
and construction and rodding plant planning and refurbishment.
