Tros Ltd. was founded in 1977. The company pioneered fresh fish exports in ocean freight containers and was later to develop into fresh fish shipments by air in a big way.

The company´s sourcing and processing activities can be divided into two categories:
In Sandgerdi, Tros Ltd. has its own processing and packing facility where fresh fish, selected and bought on the market by company staff, is filleted, iced and packed for transport.
The company may also negotiate with reliable processors, who will process fresh fish and prepare shipments in accordance with specifications provided and supervised by Tros Ltd.

Products
Many years of experience (1977) have made Tros Ltd one of Icelands largest exporters of fresh fish by air where quality and reliability are keywords. A wide variety of fresh seafood products are exported by air for freshness on a daily basis, to the European continent, the UK and the US. There are wide range of top-quality species from the North Atlantic Oceand, including cod, haddock, saithe, redfish, catfish, monkfish, halibut, lemon sole and plaice. Including a selection of farmed Icelandic fish, such as salmon, as well as arctic charr, sea bass and halibut.
Packing is in styrofoam boxes in various quantity in boxes, all range is possible from 3kg to 30kg.
Strict quality measures are both for own plant and products from other processors. The company sets own specification for processing, based on the buyers demands and has the possibilites of products from up to 40 processors in all kinds of processing.
