Video film about Classical Icelandic Saga Literature.
The script of the film is as faithful to the saga, which gives a good picture of the society in which Gisli lived and the customs of his age: the harsh laws of the vendetta, the family ties, and the heroic spirit cherished by the men who died in battle would enjoy the entertainment offered in an another world prepared for heroes.

The characteristics are much in evidence in “The Outlaw”. Gisli Súrsson is presented in the context of his times. Nevertheless he is human and intelligible to us today, in the same way as the Sagas of the Icelanders appear to us, not only as ancient manuscripts but also as living history. The saga declares that Gisli was the doughtiest of men, though not in all respect a lucky man.
