Vikings of Iceland

Handmade souvenirs and artifacts made from natural Icelandic wood
The Viking age stretched from the eight century for less than three hundred years.
Vikings are said to have been fearless conquerors, overcoming obstacles as challenges. They were farmers, fishermen, merchants and warriors.
Their language, very close to modern Icelandic, was the first European language spoken in America.

Leif Ericson, a viking born in Iceland, son of Eric the Red who emigrated to Greenland, with his men drifted west to "Vineland" (Present day Newfoundland) in the year 1000 a.d.
Later another Icelandic viking, Thorfinnur Karlsefni, along with his wife Gudridur, who must be considered one of the worlds greatest travellers in the middle ages, are belived to have gone even further westward. Snorri, son of Thorfinnur and Gudridur, was the first European born in North America.

Handmade of Icelandic wood,

Commemorating the 1000 th anniversary of the Icelandic discovery of America, artist Asgeir J. Asgeirsson produces "Vikings of Iceland" artifacts, handmade of Icelandic wood.

You can get wooden figures of Leif the Lucky, Thorfinn the Seafarer and the first viking woman in America, Gudridur Thorbjarnadottir. Asgeir also produces a Herd of Vikings, decorative bowls, schnapps goblets, trophies, special viking statues, special awards, glass mats, etc. Most of these pieces are made of the Icelandic Birch, Rowan and Larch.
