The Dainava Sewing Factory is situated 100 kilometres (about 60 miles) from Vilnius. The primary activity is the production of garments. The factory produces about 1.5 million units per year. Around 1300 people work at the factory. The authorized capital of the company is USD 2,600,000.

Dainava produces coats, short coats, raincoats and blazers for women, short coats, raincoats and blazers for men and blouses, jackets, skirts and trousers for women.

We use wollen, synthetic, viscose and other type of fabrics.

Dainava is the founder of two joint-ventures with german firms:

  • The German-Lithuanian joint-venture company Brenava Ltd was founded on the 22nd of December 1993. Production capacity is 500,000 shirts per year. Brenava Ltd is on the premises of Dainava Ltd.
  • The German-Lithuanian joint-venture company Gahlert Tekstile Ltd was founded on the 6th of March 1996. The primary activity is fabric stitching.
Sewing from the client's fabric makes up 90% of output volume. At present we are working with 9 foreign companies from Germany, France, Belgium and Holland.

The industrial area of the factory is 5416 square metres. It includes:

  • 640 m2 for the experimental department.
  • 231 m2 for the preparatory department.
  • 876 m2 for the cutting department.
  • 3669 m2 for the sewing departments.
In 1989-90 new imported equipment was installed. This includes:
  • a pattern multiplying system from Investronika in Spain.
  • cutting machines from Bullmer in Germany.
  • a duplicate press from Kanegyser, Meyer and Grundler in Germany.
  • ironing tables from Sussman in Germany.
  • ironing tables from Indupress in Germany.
  • steam boilers from Loos in Germany.
  • a set for making slanting tape from Rimoldi in Italy.
  • sewing machines from Pfaff in Germany and Juki in Japan.
  • an automatic embroidery machine (12 heads) from Pfaff in Germany.



Besides universal sewing machines we also have sewing machines with knives, machines for putting in sleeves, semi-automatic devices for sewing pockets, automatic machines for sewing long seams, two-needle sewing machines, one-head embroidering machines, sewing-overstitching machines, press-button machines, button-sewing machines and button-hole sewing machines.
