At the time Siauliu Dairy Enterprise and its manufacturing and administrative buildings occupied 0.5 hectares. Besides the local dairy, 19 butter and cheese manufacturing enterprises, located in 8 administrative regions of Lithuania, were allotted to the Siauliu Dairy Enterprise.

In the same year (1957) a construction site of 5.89 hectares in the territory of Siauliai was allocated for construction of a new dairy enterprise, and in 1961, employers were able to move into new administrative and production line buildings, where the company is located at the moment.

In 1963 the management structure of the enterprise was reorganized: low-efficiency butter and cheese production enterprises were closed down or merged with major milk processing companies.

On November 15th, 1990, Siauliu Dairy Enterprise was registered. In 1992 privatisation of the company started and on 18th January 1993 it was registered as the "State Stock Company Siauliu pienas".

On 31st August 1995 the company was re-registered as the joint-stock company "Siauliu pienas" with the following production divisions:

• Dairy in Siauliai.
• Dairy in Pakruojis.
• Dairy in Kursenai.

The basic raw material in production of dairy products is milk (95%). It is purchased not only in the Siauliu pienas area, but in the Birzai, Telsiai and Pasvalys regions as well.

Construction of new production premises began in 1988 on a 3.85 hectare site near Siauliu Dairy Enterprise and completed in 1996.

Siauliu Dairy Enterprise produces about 106 different products, as follows:

• Butter, unskimmed milk products (milk, skim milk and sweet cream).
• Curds, sweet curd cheese, "Delicious" curd cream, curds pudding, curds with spices, and various butter creams.
• Cakes ("Snowflake", "Marble" and "Dandelion" cream cakes) and "Mosaic" jelly cake.
• Baby food products.
• Ice cream (milk, cream and flavoured).
• Fermented cheese ("Dutch, "Linkuva", "Baltic", "Seta" and "Hunters").

In addition, Siauliu Dairy Enterprise has a huge production potential, making possible to enlarging its assortment as well as expanding production volume.

Marketing
The output of Siauliu Dairy Enterprise is distributed and sold in 1400 trade organizations in all 10 districts of Lithuania.

Butter and cheese are sold in Latvia, Estonia, Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad), Ukraine and some regions of Asia.
