Eisiga is a joint-stock company, located in the small town of Eisiskes in the Salcininkai district (pop. 5000) only three km from the border with Belarus.
In 1992 the company privatized a leather factory founded in 1980. The factory, which occupies a building of 4000 m2, used to produce suitcases, belts and bicycle saddles; now its product assortment has been broadened to include bags, briefcases, handbags, back-packs and wallets. Products are manufactured both from leather (local and imported) and a leather substitute. The company also makes leather articles to order, using materials provided by the customer. Products are sold both in Lithuania and abroad: in Poland, the Czech Republic, Belarus and the Kaliningrad district of Russia. The Managing Director is Mr Ricardas Pocobut, who is also the main shareholder, with 82% of the capital. The company employs 112 people. There is good scope for expansion, with a lot of vacant industrial premises available. |
