AB Farmacija is a wholesale company dealing in pharmaceuticals, vaccines, disinfectants and cleansing materials, medical products, hygiene products and cosmetics. AB Farmacija was founded in Vilnius on October 12th 1992, registration No. 92211. The main AB Farmacija office and storage premises are located in Vilnius. The office is wellequipped, and completely computerised. The main stores in Vilnius have an area of 2300 m2. Over 1600 pallets may be stored. There are also AB Farmacija warehouses in Klaipeda and Alytus and the company has representatives in Kaunas, Panevezys and Siauliai. In 1996 a bonded warehouse was opened, serving drug wholesale companies in the Baltic States. At present the company employs 125 personnel. Medicines and medical articles are delivered by the company's 20-car fleet throughout the country. ABF owns 14 private drug outlets in several different towns in Lithuania. The number of ABF customers is always increasing. At present the comany serves more than 1000 customers, i.e., drug stores, hospitals and wholesale companies. The company's turnover is growing every year. ABF property is insured with the largest European insurance companies. ABF deals with drug producers from Western and Eastern Europe, the USA, the CIS and Lithuania. The highest sales turnover of ABF involves with the following companies: Glaxo Wellcome (UK), Eli Lilly (USA), Pharmacia & Upjohn, Abbott Laboratories (USA), Berlin-Chemie AG, Menarini Group, Ankerpharm (Germany), Beiersdorf GmbH (Germany), Zeneca Pharma (UK), Immuno International AG (Switzerland), Boehringer Ingelheim (Austria), Terumo Corporation (Japan), Beaufour Ipsen International (France), Innotech International (France), Biochemie (Austria), KRKA (Slovenia), Gedeon Richter A.O. (Hungary), Egis (Hungary), Pharmacia AD (Bulgaria), Polfa-Ciech (Poland) and 3M (USA). Major Lithuanian towns accounting for more than 50% of the total population of the country receive deliveries from ABF daily. In addition, weekly deliveries go to smaller towns and other places. ABF offers more than 1500 types of medicines as well as cosmetics or human hygiene products, disinfectants and other medical products. With an increasing assortment of goods, ABF is constantly searching for new partner-producers in countries world-wide. A number of medicines are supplied to Lithuanian customers exclusively by ABF. Every month ABF publishes an informational booklet about the medicines and medical products offered and their prices. ABF is constantly improving its efforts, particular attention being paid to servicing orders and the careful storage of drugs. The ABF warehouse is being brought into line with GDP requirements. Each customer's order is entered into a computer, which ensures efficient service. |

ABF is expanding its sales network for medicines in the neighbouring foreign countries of Belarus, Estonia, Latvia and Russia. ABF has established a sales department which sells OTC articles not in drug outlets but in various shops, newsstands, etc. ABF is a regular participant in the largest pharmacy exhibitions held in Lithuania. ABF employs a large number of skilled specialists, 52% of whom have higher education. ABF is open to consider various proposals concerning foreign investments aimed at increasing turnover and economical operations. |
