Ingman Vega was established in May 1992 in Mazeikiai, a picturesque town in Zemaitija. The private Finnish company, Ingman Foods Oy, one of the biggest Finnish milk producers, was interested in starting operations in the Baltics as well as in other markets. Co-operation with the Lithuanian closed company Vega was fruitful and within one year new facilities had been constructed, equipment installed and ice-cream productionstarted up. Today the company has about 100 employees who are happy to treat Lithuanian customers to high-quality tasty ice cream of their own making. Making use of old traditions and skills, intuition and dedication and the most sophisticated food production technology, Ingman Vega Ltd specialists created wonderful ice cream recipes, appropriatly named for marketing. They constantly provide the market with a good variety of novelties and surprises. Ingman Vega ice cream is produced from local dairy products and sugar; only the packaging materials and the additives and flavours, jams, chocolate and nuts, are of foreign origin. Ingman Vega ice-cream packaging is colourful, appealing and simultaneously sturdy and long-lasting. At present Ingman Vega produces over 30 types of ice cream; chocolate-coated ice cream on a stick, cone-shaped, in 1 litre boxes, home packs and differently shaped ice cream cakes. Our customers appreciate the range of choice. There are special ice cream varieties for certain age groups and for children there are the toy ice cream Carlis and the banana-chocolate ice cream Tutis with a funny teddy bear, the symbol of Ingman Vega's success. For adults there is the wonderful fresh fruit Pagunda (temptation) and also Baltija, Vega, Solo ice creams. For families there are festive ice creams with strawberry and raspberry jam, caramel ice cream in 1 litre boxes which is favoured by numerous customers and also remarkable tasty and attractive ice-cream cakes. During the last three years the company has created an ice-cream distribution net around Lithuania and increased exports. In 1995 over 3.3 million litres of ice cream were produced and sold. The company sells about one quarter of all its ice cream in Vilnius, where the company has a branch. About 20% of the ice-cream production is exported (Belorus, Latvia, Russia, Kazakhstan, etc.). During 1996 over 3.8 million litres of ice cream were produced and sold, or about 25% of the Lithuanian ice-cream market. The company's secrets of success are the unforgettable and remarkable taste of Ingman Vega ice cream and careful attention to the customer. |
