Korys is a private pharmaceutical import and export enterprise founded by Kornelijus Backevicius. Korys was one of the first private companies in independent Lithuania. It began functioning in 1992 and since then has had the goal of providing the highest quality medical products to the
pharmacies and health care institutions in the Republic of Lithuania. Having begun as an import-export company, in five years Korys has grown and gained strength. A new subdivision for supplying products for pharmacies in Lithuania has been established, as well as modern warehouses and its own transport network. Thanks to the devotion and creativity of more than 80 highly qualified pharmacists and other medical personnel, Korys is today among Lithuania's biggest medical product suppliers. In 1994, the Marketing and Information Service Department began bringing product information news closer to the consumers. Marketing Service Department runs all the promotional work on the Lithuanian market following an agreements signed between Korys and Boehringer Ingelheim, Pfizer and other companies. In 1997 "Korys Pharmacy" was established and the network of Korys pharmacies is growing up - at recent moment Korys has the network of 8 pharmacies and the number of them will grow. In the year 1998 "Korys Laboratory" started its activities manufacturing honey and bees products. In the same year we offered pharmaceutical enterprises end pharmacies the informational database software on the pharmaceuticals supplied and legal deeds regulating pharmaceutical activities in Lithuania. In the same year Korys veterinary department started its acti-vities. Korys has been entrusted with special privileges by Laboratoires Theramex (France), Ciba Vision (France), Laboratoire Lucchini S.A. (Switzerland), Sagmel (USA), Serono Pharma S. (Switzerland), Synthelabo Group (France), S. Stroh GmbH (Austria) and F. Trenka GmbH (Austria), MT-Pharma (USA), Resorba (Germany). The medical products are imported from the biggest world manufacturing sites and from more than 90 manufacturing companies directly. The number of international contracts is growing every day. At recent time warehouses of Korys offering over 2500 different pharmaceuticals. We are supplying with dietetic products, medical items, curative cosmetic.The separate department of Korys undertakes care on supplies of medical and laboratory equipment to the hospitals. In 1998 Korys supplied pharmacies and hospitals with pharmaceuticals and medical products for 16,3 million USD. |
