Linen is the first fabric of which there is any historical record. A fabric of remarkable beauty, sensuality and durability, its comfort grows with time. The spinning and weaving industry and the art of weaving have been associated with Lithuania for centuries. So it is only natural that AB Siulas is part of the family of linen producers. AB Siulas can truly be called one of the oldest textile mills in Lithuania. It was founded in 1928 at a remarkable site, the Astravas estate, located outside Birzai on the north side of the Sirvena lake. The Astravas Palace was built in 1862 by Duke Jonas Tiskevicius. The palace was ruined and later rebuilt many times, and in 1930 it was adapted to the practical needs of the plant. Now it is owned by AB Siulas. Over 500 employees currently work at the plant. Having undergone 3 stages of treatment in the spinning, weaving and finishing departments, flax fibres are transformed into linen fabrics of diverse designs and colours. The design and production departments are closely meshed so as to produce creative and well-designed special collections for clients. The textiles are produced in the client's chosen colours and qualities. There are 2 basic fabric types in: pure linen and half-linen (52% linen + 48% cotton). Different fabric widths are available: 50 cm, 150 cm and 180 cm for half-linen, and 50 cm and 150 cm for pure linen. Raw materials are obtained from local flax-processing factories. The annual capacity is 400 tons of linen yarns and 2 million metres of fabrics. At the customer's request, the sewing department will carry out orders for ready-made items for home textiles. The plant works 6 days a week, providing a constant supply of goods in all required sizes. This is why AB Siulas can offer you just what you and your house needs:
