Our firm supplies natural gas. We accept orders for gas-meter installations and design interior and exterior gas supply networks for residential homes. We sell gas-line attachments and spare parts and materials and equipment for gas pipe construction and maintenance. Klaipeda's gas works were first constructed in 1861. During World War II the gasworks were destroyed and were never rebuilt. In 1956 liquefied propane-butane gas was introduced. In 1961 natural gas was introduced. In 1964 Klaipeda Gas Company was established. At present the firm Vakaru Dujos provides gas and installations for the cities of Klaipeda, Palanga, Kretinga and Gargzdai. The firm Vakaru Dujos has 492 km of underground distribution lines and services 74,314 households and 103 commercial and industrial customers. In 1996 Vakaru Dujos sold approximately 200 million cubic metres of natural gas. Hunting and sailing clubs meet at our Vacation Inn and we operate a comfortable hotel in Palanga, with a cafŽ and restaurant.
