Natural resources of Norway
Apart from fish and petroleum, Norway is not particularly rich in natural resources. Oil production is the most important source of income, and petroleum makes up about 30% of all Norwegian exports. Fisheries are also significant on an international scale.

There is only a limited amount of cultivated land in Norway. In spite of expansive coniferous forest, forestry is also limited. Norway is poor in most minerals and metals.

Norway's development into one of the richest countries in the world is mostly associated with extensive industrialization, easy access to hydroelectric power, and close proximity to important export markets in Europe.
