The Midnight
Sun of Norway The darkness is by no means total, except for the middle of the night. Most of the time the sun is so near the horizon that the "Nordic twilight" lights up the landscape. In the night, when the moon is not out, the Northern Lights (Aurora borealis) shine and wave like swords and airy curtains in red, green and violet. |
