A Role Model
Nordic co-operation is highly regarded as a success and often used as a role model by other institutions, for example the European Union.

Amongst projects which have been undertaken is a mutual agreement on environmental issues. The agreement includes a section by which, for example, Swedish authorities would be able to prosecute a Norwegian company on home territory in the event of serious environmental damage inflicted upon Swedish territory and vice versa.
