The Nordic Countries

Nordic Houses
Nordic Houses are cultural centres financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers. These centres are located on the Faroe Islands, in Iceland, Greenland and on the Aaland Islands. The aim is to maintain active contact between these nations and the rest of the Nordic countries as well as to promote local culture. They function as meeting places open to the general public and all have well-stocked libraries with magazines, newspapers and books, in addition to cafeterias, art galleries, lecture programmes, stage and musical performances and conferences.
