The Nordic Countries

Nordplus and the Nordic Academy for Advanced
Nordplus is a Nordic student-exchange system which very much resembles the European Erasmus student exchange system. The Nordic system is aimed at students in further education, who are able to get financial support to do part of their studies in a Nordic country other than their native country. The system also applies to teachers, who are given the opportunity to teach their specialities in the other Nordic countries.

The Nordic Academy for Advanced Studies is another initiative to improve the quality of research and stimulate research activity in the Nordic countries. Networks have been created between Nordic researchers in order to encourage them to work on joint projects. Through these projects, the Nordic countries can participate in, or initiate, large projects which are financially beyond the capabilities of a single country or institution, and so become more competitive on the international market.
