Looking for hotels in Slovenia?
On the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary the Belinka group is a well-respected, market-oriented company, stable in its traditional markets and in the process of penetrating new ones. We have been able to integrate with global business trends very quickly. We have learnt to recognise what is really valuable and to use this in all areas of our business. We acknowledged our responsibility to the environment very early on, and wove it into our “green is wise” philosophy, which we observe right the way through from design to marketing and in our general attitude towards the world around us.
We have for some time been aware that the greatest asset of a company is its staff. They are professional, personally motivated and loyal to Belinka.
For these reasons we have always remained at the top of Slovene industry in terms of income per employee, and we have managed to overcome even the worst upheavals. In a short time we have reversed the steep downward trends which occurred upon the loss of our markets in the early 90s. We have great ambitions for the future.
The Belinka group today consists of the umbrella company, Belinka, and the manufacturing
companies Belinka Perkemija d.o.o., Belinka Belles d.o.o., Belinka KTM d.d. and Belinka
Kemostik d.d.
Belinka Perkemija, d.o.o. was registered in 1991 as a joint-stock company and restructured in 1995 as a limited liability company. It is successor and party to the contract on joint investment which Belinka concluded with the Laporte (Luton, GB) and Solvay (Brussels) companies. At the time this contract was concluded, Laporte and Solvay were leading producers of hydrogen peroxide, sodium perborate and other peroxide products at a global level.
Co-operation with them, based on licensing, engineering and knowledge transfer contracts, in addition to the joint investment contract, has been successful from the start. The
multinational Solvay company took over 10% of Belinka’s shares from Laporte in 1991; it
has owned 20% of Belinka Perkemija’s shares since then.
The basic activity
of Belinka Perkemija, d.o.o. is the production of peroxide compounds. The primary products
are hydrogen peroxide, sodium perborate tetrahydrate and peroxiacetic acid (Persan S). A
by-product in hydrogen peroxide production is industrial carbon dioxide gas, which we sell
in liquidised form. From sodium perborate production we get borax in the purification
facility for waste water. For the production of hydrogen peroxide we need de-mineralised
water, which we partly also market.
The Belinka Belles.
d.o.o. company was founded in 1968, when Belinka began working with the Danish company
Sadolin & Holmblad in the production of wood protection agents. On the Slovene and
Yugoslav markets we established a new concept-translucent coating - and a new approach to
wood protection. The translucent coatings preserve the wood’s natural aspect and can be
used by anybody for coating wood and for renewing coatings. Our own development work has
brought us a step further. Belles has not only mastered the production process, but also
developed new products. The licensed production of Sadolin was replaced by our own new
system of wood protection, which we placed on the market in 1985, thus setting new
standards for systemic wood protection.
With consistently
high quality and a modern marketing approach we have gained a reputation as a leading
producer of wood protection agents on the domestic market, and succeeded in exporting our
products to demanding foreign markets. Abroad we market all our products under our own
trademark.
Belinka’s system
of wood protection agents includes materials which protect wood chemically against pests
and the elements, coat it decoratively, and even cure wood which has already been damaged.

![]() We have joined all our wood protection products into one system, so that they can be used independently or in combination, depending on where the wood is located and the threats it faces. In addition to consumer products we produce industrial wood coatings which we can adjust to the demands of the client. In the production of wood protection substances we at Belles follow the pace of global development. We continuously improve our products and adjust them to the needs of the market. We modify our formulas with modern components which are more acceptable to the environment and to people, and simultaneously develop new products. Our strong development team carries out its work in well-equipped development and biological laboratories, and we have a meteorological unit where we test our competitive products. We have domestic and foreign certificates attesting to the quality, effectiveness and environmental acceptability of our products. In 1997 Belinka expanded by buying two more companies. In October we arranged our first friendly takeover when we became the majority owner of the Kemicna Tovarna Moste d.d. (Moste Chemical Factory), and shortly before the end of the year we became the 95% owner of the Kemostik Kamnik d.d. company. Belinka Kemicna Tovarna Moste d.d. has been in operation since 1907, when it began producing aluminium salts. During the relatively long history of this company the technical and economic conditions have changed, and with them the range and structure of production, and the production programme. The company has undergone many various forms of ownership relation and is now, as a privatised joint-stock company, a member of the Belinka group. The main business activity of the company is still the production of aluminium salts. Belinka Kemostik Kamnik d.d. has been producing adhesives and other chemical products for fifty years. Adhesives today represent 81% of its production, followed by sealants (6%), polishing pastes (4%), anti-corrosion agents (4%), car maintenance products (3%) and liquid plastic (2%). All the companies in the Belinka group follow ISO 9001 and 9002 standards in their business processes. Belinka Holding d.d. gained its ISO 9001 certificate towards the end of 1995 - the first umbrella company in Slovenia to do so. Belinka has majority shares in Belinka Perkemija and Belinka Belles, and through its representatives and management bodies influences the strategies of these companies, in line with its own strategic goals. The companies of the Belinka group are autonomous, operating independently on the market and managing their own assets and profits. In this they seek synergy, first in the operation of the group and then, through it, in its links with other groups. |
