Celjske Mesnine d.d. in Celje is a company with a long tradition. From its beginnings the first year after the war with a merger of several smaller meat-packing plants, it has become a modern enterprise employing over 300 staff today. It has a modern slaughterhouse, meat processing plant, cooler, and retail shops. To demonstrate the company’s commitment to environmental protection, it recently acquired a modern purification plant. In Europe, it is known as an export-oriented slaughterhouse operating in full compliance with EEC standards.

The two extensive production programmes of Celjske Mesnine d.d. include the production of meat, which includes the slaughter of cattle and hogs, and the preparation of fresh meat for the market. With more than 6,000 head of cattle purchased yearly, the cattle and hogs for slaughter are raised by renowned livestock producers from a wide region of Styria. Their experience and long tradition in cattle breeding provide homemade meat of best quality.

The second production programme includes meat products with a yearly output of over 3,000 tons of which 1,000 tons are preserved meat products. Celjske Mesnine is a household name, famous for its wide selection of preserved, half-preserved, boiled and dried meat products. The company is especially proud of its programme of preserved meat products of high quality.
