The headquarters of Stavbar - IGM are located on the outskirts of Maribor, the second largest business center in Slovenia. The company’s beginnings reach back to 1947 when the Municipal Construction Company was founded and was renamed the Stavbar Construction Company in 1955.

The company’s activities are diverse, primarily directed toward providing materials and services to construction and civil engineering firms and providing specialized construction services such as the forming of reinforcement steel and construction carpentry.

The list of construction projects the company has contributed to at home and abroad is long, but let us mention some of the most demanding. Among the important projects abroad are a twenty-story building in Ludwigsburg, seven residential towers in Nürnberg, participation in the construction of a road crossing and overpass for the underground railroad in Munich, the Frankfurt airport, the BMW tower and museum in Munich, the 3100-apartment Arzew residential complex in Algiers, construction of a residential suburb in Idstein, an 11,000 m2 warehouse and office complex in Leoben, a 16,000 m2 factory in Lebring, the management of the construction of the Hilton hotel complex in Mersin in Turkey, and a complex of pre-fabricated buildings for Energoinvest in Sarajevo.

More recent objects at home include an office and trade center in Maribor, the Perutnina office and warehouse center in Ljubljana, Kastner & Öhler trade centers in Maribor and Celje, warehouse and production facilities for Henkel-Zlatorog in Maribor, and the “C” residential complex in Maribor.

In the field of civil-engineering, the company has participated as subcontractor or material supplier for the following motorway projects: the Vrhole-Preloge, Kresnice, Ormoz, Skedenj, and Slivnica viaducts and the drainage systems on the Hoce-Slivnica and Sentilj-Pesnica motorway sections.

Stavbar IGM’s facilities for the manufacture of the highest quality building materials are essential components of the company, as reflected in the acronym “IGM” (industrial building materials). These plants are located in the industrial zone beside the Hoce railway station. That our construction operations division can successfully undertake the most exacting building and civil engineering work is proven by our numerous references.

Main Activities of the Company

planning, testing, and production of all types of concrete and mortars in two concrete mixing plants with a total capacity of 90 m3 per hour;
production of top quality Drava River gravel for concrete and mortar and the production of crushed gravel for asphalt;
production of waterproof pipes with integrated rubber joints using the most modern technology of vibration compressed concrete with 100% quality control of all manufactured pipes (dimension and watertigtnes tests), production of manholes, gasoline and oil traps, and septic tanks;

bending and installation of reinforcement bars and pre-stressed adhesion steel bars for the most demanding engineering structures;
production of concrete curbstones with special emphasis on double-layer, vibration compressed curbing and double-layer paving-stones of various shapes and colours;
production of prefabricated pre-stressed elements for halls with spans up to thirty meters, prefabricated elements for residential buildings, and civil engineering structural elements;
