This year is KODIA’s tenth year of operation. When the agency opened in November 1988, it became the first commercial photographic archives in Yugoslavia.

On January 1, 1991, KODIA became a limited company whose primary activities include:

• archiving works by Slovene photographers;

• representing foreign photographers and photographic agencies;

• marketing and selling material copyrights of the photographs it collects, stores, and markets for domestic and foreign photographers and photographic agencies;

• representing authors in all fields as an authorial agency;

• publishing books, calendars, and other publications on its own or for clients;

• organizing and holding competitions and exhibitions;

• gallery and commercial activities.

In the last decade, numerous events have marked KODIA’s presence in the Slovene market, starting with efforts to make authors and buyers alike aware of the need to respect and value photographic work, to introduce qualitative materials for the preservation and presentation of photographs, and to publish a series of photo calendars, for which we have received numerous awards at home and abroad.

Currently, we have works by more than seventy Slovene photographers in our archives, and we cooperate with numerous recognized and respected foreign agencies:

EXPLORER, HOA QUI, JACANA, RAPHO, GOODSHOOT (Paris, France),

BAVARIA BILDAGENTUR (Gauting, Germany),

THE PICTURE HUNTERS (Germany), and many other agencies from all over the world.

In our archives we have thousands of interesting, beautiful, and historically significant photographs that are available to clients for various uses upon payment of the applicable material copyrights. Our clients include graphic designers, advertising agencies, the media, and individuals who require photographic materials, and the number of foreign clients is on the increase.
